All the  children and staff at Olveston School are placed into houses when they join. These houses are used as a way of grouping the children in mixed age, year, ability groupings where they participate in structured, competitive events throughout the school year.  At lunch time the children sit within their class house groups to encourage interaction with all children.  During the school day there are always plenty of opportunities for the the children to earn 'house points' which accrue and are totalled at the end of each term to see which house has won the house cup.
